Blue Mondays

Image
I can't believe it's Monday already! I've been super busy getting ready for a show, the  Junior League's Annual Gift Mart and have a lot of new items to show you!   But that is another post... this is all about the color blue!  Blue fabric to be exact.. because { drum roll please.........} the fabric samples I ordered of my " Peace Series " mixed media paintings came today! It's hard to believe this is cotton fabric!  I can hardly wait to start working with it. Below is one of the original paintings... and here are some more of the fabric samples...    I'd love to see this sofa with some of my new fabric on it.    A fabulous frame with a patchwork of  fabulous blues!   I LOVE the blue and the pattern in this vintage fabric I found on Etsy !  That is my theme for today... FABRIC! Colored silk can be so vibrant!  This is another vintage fabric with fabulous blues. Here's a clever idea!  Frame square of your favorite fabric... this

New Work... 'Peace Series'

Image
"Peace" I recently completed a small, mixed media acrylic series called "Peace".  Each painting is 8"x8" on gallery wrapped canvas. I love how they turned out.  The blues and greens invoke a peaceful calm while the circular shapes, script markings and paint drips add a touch of whimsy. The chunky stenciled shape acts as an anchor in a  mystical setting. I like to think that something inside the painting calls the viewer to look deeper... deeper into the 'peace'. These paintings also remind me of the 23rd Psalm... "... He makes me to lie down in green pastures;          He leads me beside the still waters.   3  He restores my soul..." Tell me what YOU think... how do they make you feel?
